Mystery: Car pulls to the right during aggressive shift

When the rear axle bolt (goes through bottom of hub) was coming loose due to the drop link-tow hook issue I had it would cause lots of interesting wiggles......if only one side was loose, say passenger side it would pull under braking to one side (can't remember which way), then it would pull the opposite on hard acceleration.....

"Not certain if it was because the S4 had a staggered fitment from the factory -but my air pressure is not supposed to be identical:
36 psi front/44 psi rear."
Very few of us now run 44 psi in the rear tires.
Most of us now run somewhere between 32psi to 34psi, same pressure front and rear.

removing the rear end sidways under full power application can be done by replacing the rear LCA arm to rear cross member bushings,
and the dog bone bushings.
yes the car needs an alignment when your finished

I hate issues like this. Good luck. My first thought was the car is bent. My 79 was bent and pulled like this. It all came to a head with the alignment. Is the same shop doing the alignment everytime? If its not that, it has to be tire pressure, bad shock or bushing. Finding it is going to be a bit*ch.

Right after I got my first S4 I decided that with the potentiol for high speeds more often than with my pickup I should put a little more pressure in the tires, so I pumped them up to 44 psi. Then when I made a casual "preflight" of the rear tires before trips by simply looking at the visible tread at the outer part of the tires that was easily visible, and found no significant wear, I made my trips.
However, on one of them about 60 miles away from home, but on the way back, I had the right rear tire go flat all of a sudden. What I found was that I had worn the center of the tread on the rear tires, and the right one was all the way down to the air. The uneven tread wear was due to overinflation.
I changed it out and came home on the spare.
Now I keep about 34 psi all around.

I would add that my 5-speed ('86.5, LSD, 36 bar rear regulator, ABS in-op.) also tries to swap ends (usually to the right) when braking HARD, in a straight line, from over 100.
I need to take a look at the bushings...

I had a customer with a Mercedes who told me that when he used passing gear (transmission kick down) at highway speeds, the car instantly changed lanes! I thought to myself "Yeah, right", but said "lets take a test drive". Sure enough, he was right - amazing. After several techs looked at the car for a good long time (I work in a big shop), someone noticed the rear sway bar had moved slightly out of its original position, indicating a slight bend, obviously from some previous damage. We unhooked the sway bar on both sides, repeated the road test, and that was the cause - a slightly bent rear sway bar.

Found the culprit. I had a bent left shock pin and a washer on the right shock pin was in the wrong place (wrong side of the shock). Thanks again for everybody's help. I never would have thought to look in the rear without you guys.
