Default 1988 S4 For Sale

Selling my late partner's 928 S4. It is a red over black and tan car. The body/paint is in very good condition, the interior is in very good condition, and it has a strong running engine. The 4 speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly. I did not notice any fluid leaks under the car (it has been sitting since last fall). It has just under 105K on the odometer, which is not considered particularly high mileage for these cars. I would describe it as a good daily driver. The bad - needs a rebuilt torque tube - the bearings are bad. Estimate to fix is approximately $1300 in labor, plus parts, ranging from $500 (928 Intl) to $1000 from Constantine. Full description and pictures in the classified Here:

Priced accordingly at $6000.

While no one was paying much attention all the cars got about ten years older so now an S-4 is selling for about what a 1978 model 928 was TEN YEARS ago.
Worth remembering that the newest 928 is now twice as old as the average car on the road ! and the oldest 928 about four times.

Not sold, still available. A couple interested parties, but nobody pulled the trigger yet. First one to put money on it gets it.

So?

A 1988 911 is just as old as a 1988 928

Was the passenger side front fender replaced at some point? It is missing the VIN sticker & a bolt.

I have no idea. It has a clean carfax from the report I saw in the file from a few months back.

take a closer look - the vin plate is there. A bolt is missing. The bolt may have been removed to get better clearance while working on asomething near there and not replaced? Anyway, there are no indications to me that the fender was painted or replaced.
