While I was at a Porsche dealership today I asked what they use currently for sealant and asked if still is used Dreibond. They said they use Loctite 5900 for almost all engine and transmission sealing applications now. It's used for flange sealing (metal to metal) and metal to plastic and non-rigid materials.
It is cheaper than Loctite 574.
Here is the spec sheat: http://tds.loctite.com/tds5/docs/5900-EN.PDF
The spec sheat doesn't mention it but the tube says it's safe for oxygen sensors and for catalytic convertors.
I took a tube home for my intake refresh.
