Can anyone explain what this switch does? Where is it located?

If I remember correctly, it is actually part of the turn signal switch complex.

If, with the igntion switch off, you move the turn signal lever as if you were signalling a turn, the parking lights on that side (and only that side) will come on. This is a requirement for street parking in some countries.

 

Thanks for the great explanation. Without the WHY, it was hard to trust my interpretation of the schematic.

 

Yes its in the combo switch, look at a later model schematic - that part of the switch is unchanged YTY.

Yes found out the hard way left my turn signal on my euro on over night didn't notice the lights on. Go to try to go to work the next day dead batterey took me a few days to figure out what was going on
