Jerry...if you didn't need paint before ...you sure as heck do now with those beauties in there.

Hi Dean. It has always been pretty obvious that the GTS4 needs paint, and that is one of the reasons that it sold for what I paid. I could tell from the pictures in the eBay listing and those numerous ones in the 928 Registry that it needed paint. Since I got the car home and have looked it over more closely I can tell that it has had more repaint than just the front clip in it's past. In fact it appears that the hatch has maybe not been repainted, but completely replace with one that doesn't even fit; and its color is way off.

One would think that the hatches are all the same, but when I looked at how poorly this hatch fits I measured it and then compared with some others I have around here and find that the one on the car is actually about a quarter inch shorter; and the curve of the front edge of this hatch does not match the top of the car very well. I'll be changing it again myself.

Right now I am looking around here for someone who might be doing Soda Blasting since I would like to take all the paint off with that and start over. I'll stay with the original color so I wont have to do the jams or so much of them, but an otherwise complete paint job in is the offing. I have a friend and client who is going to help me with that. Maybe I'll post some pictures about that project.

Then Doug and I are going to do the rest of the interior. I'll be starting different threads about the various aspects of the interior work as we get to it.

Nice to hear from you., Dean. Also very nice job on the Green car. I really look foreward to seeing it in person some time. Take care.

That car could not be in better hands. It does the heart good to see a car brought back from the edge. Always looking forward to more of your threads. They make me feel lazy.

Thanks, Dave. Nice to hear from you. I hope we are going to get to have more input from you as time goes along.

Maybe we could hear a little about your 928? Pictures are always in order (unless you did it and I missed them).

The topic of the sport seat in my avatar comes up once in a while, and agin just recently, so I thought I would bump this thread also.

I am glad you bumped this thread Jerry. Really great. How is the foam holding up?

I am very slowly doing the upholstery in my '91. So far I've done a back seat and the pod and they both came out pretty well.

I have a DIY Jerry Feather pattern pod cover that I made before I realized the pattern was for '78-89 only. So now I have a spare pod cover in dark blue leather, a close match for Porsche Cobalt Blue. The leather is San Diego Blue from the Leather Hide Store, as recommended to me by Paul Champagne. If anyone is interested in that please let me know.
