Hi folks,
We have some time but I'll put up our next Get Together for Long Island. Anyone who wants another spot, now is the time to chime in.
I spoke to a few folks privately and also checked around; the Hicksville Bagel Boss is central to Nassau County and about 30 minutes on Sunday Morning from Brooklyn and Queens and about 1 hour from most points in Suffolk. There will be other classic cars there as well. They typically go to the car wash across the street (Woodbury Royal Car Wash) then drive over to Bagel Boss for coffee & bagels.
Exit on South Oyster Bay road and travel south; you'll pass a BP Station on your right and the next shopping center past that intersection is Bagel Boss (you can make a right on Woodbury Road or cross over and make a right into the parking lot. There is a Walgreen's & Staples. I'd recommend we take a spot by the American Drive-in Dry Cleaners away from Bagel Boss (the shopping center
Exit 43 South on the Long Island Expressway or Exit 36 south on the Northern State. Be careful on Northern State Exit--traffic comes VERY fast over the hill to your left and there is usually a bit of rocks/stones at the base of the exit.
If coming by Southern State Parkway, take SSP Eastbound to the Wantagh State North, exit at Old Country Road East about 3 miles, then make a left onto South Oyster Bay Road; shopping center (Staples) will be about 1 1/2 miles up on your left. Or just stay on Wantagh until you get to Northern State Eastbound and follow directions above.
Be EXTREMELY CAREFUL-Traffic accidents happen often at the intersection of South Oyster Bay Road and Old Country Road and Old Country has MANY red-light cameras: http://www.longislandredlightcameras.com/

I stay mainly out East. I was the contact for that club by resigned. I can explain in a PM. We have a whole lot of fun and my wife takes great pride, as she is the organizer of these runs. We have a good group of folks, driving all different types of cars. This year, my Son will be driving the Hulk, as he is out of the USAF.
