Default In need of a new front end!

Today, my son had a small accident in the 928. Nobody was hurt and it wasn't his fault (luckily for him!). Unfortunately, the car did not come out unscathed - Front bumper, driver's side fender, fog lights, and turn signals were toasted.

The car is a black 86.5. Can anyone help with the model years that are compatible with this front end?

If anybody could point us in the right direction of someone parting a car or a junkyard that has one? The car is located in Leelanau County, MI.

Thanks in advance!

Here are some pics:

82-86 as long as it's from an S for the bumper and fender. Your hood looks alright, but if it's not you would need a hood from an 85 or 86 as the washer nozzles are heated.

Glad everyone's ok.

Can't help with parts in your area, but nineapart.com up in Ontario has a fender (I know because purchased one of the two they had). And I'm sure they have a bumper. Not the cheapest place thought. I paid $400 for my fender, but they were the only ones that had one.

78-86 fender will work just fine you simply drill holes for the spoiler same for front bumper you must cut out the area for the brake duct. Instructions are in the workshop manual.

You can also use an early bumper too by cutting the in the ducts. You will need a bumper shock. I cannot tell is that is damage on the hood or a shadow, but the hood looks to be pop at the back.

Probably once you remove the bumper cover you will better be able to tell what is going on. Hopefully the bumper shock absorbed most of the shock. You may need to inner bumper.

I am in SF and have all the parts except maybe some of the lights - but shipping might be expensive. With the bumper cover and fender off you should check the operation of the headlight. The shaft on the base may be bent.

As far as things go you should be able to replace all the parts yourself. I would recommend stripping the paint off the new bumper cover and fender before having the body shop paint them and be sure to use flex agent in the primer and paint for the bumper cover.

Good luck

I've got the parts you need for this. I have a 1985 parts car with the fender and bumper cover. They are wine red though and would have to be repainted. I'm not sure what the rules are about trading on here. I'm new to this site. You can call me at 501-680-698five.

Ouch, sorry to see that happen to a fellow '86. At least the damage isn't too extensive. That should fix right up with new parts. MG928 just sold a black '81. The thread is somewhere here with the new owner selling off parts.

Contact dan87951@gmail.com or here on rennlist. He is in the Lansing, MI area and has the front bumper (in Black), bumper shocks and lights, for sure. Dont know about the fender though. At least you could drive for only a couple hours and pick up the parts.

i have the black 81, bumper seems very solid, the fender is also very nice, not sure if you'd want to make the trek to upstate NY, but i'll take a good luck at the pieces, and can post a couple pics tomorrow after work.

The washer nozzles in the '84 hood are also heated. Just bought a set from Pelican.

Matt,

It was good talking to you on the phone. Sorry to hear about your Dad's car. Feel free to check out the link to my website in my sig for pictures and prices of the parts I have. There are a lot of parts on there that are sold (just haven't had the time to update). The bumper cover I have is black already as well and may be a good match but doesn't have the brake cooling ducts on it as it was from a non S car. I already sold the fenders to another member so they are gone.
