$259.00 buy it now, if I did not have a GTS wing already, it would be mine.

Wow, that's how much they go for eh?? I have a foldable wing on my 87 S4. I never knew they were so prized, when "martinss" came to buy a new air pump i had, looked at my car and told me the foldable wing was rare!

The folding rear wing was standard on the 1987 year type 928S4 , this was then replaced by Porsche from early in the 1988 year type with the non folding or fixed wing type , so basically from 1988 they all were fixed ( GT or not )
The folding type( 1987) hinge/s give a lot of trouble , meaning they break / fail to lock back in place etc etc & the parts needed to fix them from Porsche are expensive , each stainless steel hinge assembly is around $432 USD each X 2

It's not only folding, but the angle is adjustable, which is the main benefit.
I have mine adjusted so that it makes a flat drink tray. It will really scare you when it snaps down at about 40 mph if left unlatched!

the hinges are around $400..if you can get them... and the folding wing stopped mid 87.............later 87's didn't have them.. not sure where the cutoff was.. somewhere back in rennlist history someone figured it out.. I think it was around VIN 1200ish??

Few years ago I was chatting with an S4 owner in Elkhart who was trying to explain how the early S4 folding wing moves at speed to increase downforce.
He read it on some internet forum, who was I to argue?

Lol, i heard a less glorious explanation that it just folded because it made it easier to clean off the covered portion of the hatch and "928" trim piece, which is true because it actually is hard to get under there.
My PO had a penchant for black silicone... and tried to silicone the wing down, probably because he never knew about the folding wing.
