Default Instrument Cluster Speedo Compatibility

Can a 160 mph speedo replace a 85 mph speedo in an 82?

Thanks,

David

Yes, I did the same upgrade on my 1980 928. Think the 85 mph speedo was a USA only thing.
Just make sure you get the correct model year speedo and that the PPM value is the same (Pulses Per Mile)

Cheers!

I am re-using the 160 mph speedo from my 82 and considering a new instrument cluster (but the instrument cluster under consideration only has an 85 mph speedo). So, I would assume my car would have the correct PPM value, right?

thanks,

David
