Burning Brakes
Sounds more like the plunger in the fuel distibutor is gummed up with varnish just pull the fuel dis off and boil it in water for about an hour. After that you should be able to grab the bottom the the plunger with vice grips and pull the plunger out. Clean the hole and plunger with carb cleaner lube lightly with some oil and make sure the clip is bent back to keep the pluger from falling out and reinstall. It should atleast fire and run.

Hi Marc ... you seem to be having a bit of trouble with renaming this thread. If you go to your original post you should be able to click the advanced tab, and that will give you the option of renaming the thread.
It would be better to post the photos in this original thread so that there is continuity, and everyone knows what has already been recommended.
The mods may be able to help in amalgamating your new thread with this one ... or rename this one, post the pics here and ask the mods to delete the other one..
You don't have to worry about the order of the connection of the injectors as the K Jetronic Mechanical FI system is what is commonly referred to as CIS .. which is "Continuous Injection System".
The injectors spray a continuous stream of fuel with the quantity being regulated by the fuel distributor head, with all injectors getting the same continuous flow. The distributor head modulates the fuel volume according to air flow, and also according to other variables such as temperature, hot/cold start, etc.
If the warm up regulator (WUR) has been plumbed incorrectly that will be affecting the gradual tapering off of a rich mixture for starting, but there will be other things to check like the auxilliary air valve which provides more air for the extra fuel provided as the engine warms up, and then a cold start injector line into the front of the plenum ... and there's more.
Lots of pics with accompanying descriptions of where lines start and finish will help to sort out what looks like some imaginative plumbing and wiring by the previous owner or mechanic ... who by the looks of it had no idea.

I can understand that Internet isn't always the best in most of Africa.
Follow Dave's advice! Everything he has said is spot on.
However if the car has say for that long I would inspect the spray pattern and verify that the injectors close and pass zero fuel at 35psi. If they still spray fuel at 35 psi they need to be replaced.
Also make sure the metering plate moves freely when car is off.

AARGH!!!!
again- "jua kali" - back yard mechanics-- no fuel through 2 of the injectors so took of dist and boiled as suggested,no luck , opened up and hey presto all the rubber seals damaged. went to Mombasa and found some others I hope they work? does any one have a diagram of the exploded distributor? and any hints as to assembly, this unit had some pock marks on the side so it was obviously opened before but is it assembled correctly?
thanks again Marc

No spares that I know of for that you will need to use a gasket making film I used Indian head form-a- gasket here and had very good luck with it, it might take a couple tries to get it leak free.
