Sorry - likely a dumb question, but I'm stumped.

I've reinstalled all of the carpet in my '88 except for a small piece that measures 2" x 15" and has binding on all edges. This was loose when I got the car so I've never known where it is supposed to go. The best place seems to be between the rear seat backs on the 'bar' at the beginning of the hatch floor. However this area has a Velcro strip that engages the hatch carpet so that doesn't make sense.

post a picture,i think there's one about that size across the front of the drivers seat.or it could be the piece that runs across the rear tailgate slam panel.

I have something like that stuck to the floor under the rear of the passenger seat forward of the kidney shaped mat. no idea why as it doesnt appear to have any real use or even cover the whole area.
maybe its to take the seat adjustment into account but thats just a guess.

that piece goes along the outside rail of the driver seat between the E brake and seat rail on the floor.
