Starter reassembly "WSM" needed
1987 S4 5 speed
I disassembled my (stock) Bosch starter motor to check the shaft bushings, polish up the armature and commutator bars, and check brush thickness, i also tested the armature and commutator for opens/shorts to ground/shorts to shaft. Thankfully nothing was out of wack or worth it to replace, just a cleaning was needed.
Is there any Bosch material on starter reassembly for the 87+ starter?
I have assembled and disassembled plenty of starter motors before. I just want a guide to be sure i am assembling everything in order, and recommendations for assembly lube to use etc. The 928 starter is a little less complex than modern starters as it doesn't have planetary gear reduction to worry about. But a guide or "WSM" for the starter would be nice.
Any tips or links would be appreciated.
