Default camshaft sprocket clock

Need a clock in the garage, anyway...so found a use for a worn cam sprockets

Would be cooler to have a properly-plated 5/16" x 1-1/2" washer, not the zinc Home Depot one.

Remember, though, that this will show cam time, not crank time.

If Ken made some clock hands out of the 32vR pointers, I could set it properly.

You know what would be really cool? Doing a dual 12/24 hour clock using a full front end gear set: cam sprockets, crank sprocket, and for completeness: oil pump sprocket, and all the water pump and tensioner rollers, etc.

Then you could put a 12 hour clock face on the crank sprocket and 24 hour clock faces on the cam sprockets. You'd probably need a pretty beefy clock mechanism to turn the whole affair.

Would that be cool, or what?

Why not just hook a starter up to the engine on a stand and feed it the right number of amps at 12V...attach clock gearing and hands to the accessory pulleys to mount on the crank...noisy clock that would be.

Probably starting to get on the expensive side, too.

Oh yeah... nice idea on the original, simple version.

I'm glad you went with the analog, rather than digital version....

Cool. Looks better than those brake disc clocks.

Add some sort of count down timer for when your timing belt needs replaced?
