Default 16V improved crankcase breather!!

The 928 Estate had a similar setup....just a 1" K&N breather right at the oil filler top, where the stock setup runs a breather line to the passenger side airbox, where it INJECTS lots of oil into the airbox...

Casper had this stock setup.....worked just fine as long as I kept the oil level at 1/2 or lower.....I made the mistake of filling it all the way to full on the dipstick....this made it spit all kinds of oil into the airbox....made quite a mess all over the filter and airbox.... Casper does have the OB oil pan, but does NOT have a 3/8th spacer like the Estate did.....so oil level is more critical to keep the crank from whipping it up increasing crankcase pressure big time....

I looked for a 1" K&N to put on Casper but my local autozone did not have one....however I found this neat part......1" intake into a small dome with mesh filter material on the backside (input) and a nice metal screen on the outside (vent)..... I still haven't decided exactly where I'm gonna mount it, or if I am going to keep the long line to the separator but it was only $4.99....so I'll try it for a while......sure a true seperator/catch can is better...but those are $80 to 100....

Hi Brian i would suggest to put a cap on that fuel damper so if it starts leaking it wont pour fuel onto the engine. Good luck with the venting

I made my own. Drawing in this thread.

Separator thread

The harder part is plumbing it up and mounting it. Mine sits in the left fenderwell where the cruise control solenoid used to be.

I let it collect the oil in the separator and drain it out after each session. Lets me know exactly how the oil ejection battle is going. With the I-J scraper kit and keeping RPMs to 6250 it's not getting much oil at all. Anymore.

I'm thinking about adding a little test port....so I can measure how much pressure or vacuum there is....
