Default Removing flappy flap - problems

Hi,
part way through intake refresh & following Dwayne's excellent writeup. I am sending out the intake for recoating.

I removed the side cover and attempted to unscrew the two screws holding the flap in place - no joy - damaged the screws despite my best care.

I removed the other side cover and found that the reason I can't remove the screw is that some nice person has flared their ends by using a cold chisel across them. There are corresponding cold chisel marks on the flappy shaft as well.

A bit of a difficult place to get tools at.

Any people out there with any ideas?

Myles

Thats probly factory done..just more aggressive than usual.

These need the RIGHT sized screwdriver, and done smartly to work.

Drill off the heads..pull shaft, remove remainder of screws..get new screws.

You may have to drill the screws out
then replace the throttle plate shaft
and new screws
