Default "Sharks in Nowhere" - first Indy928 regional event, May 26th

The Indy928 crew has been considering hosting an event for the past several years, and we have set the date Saturday, May 26th, which is the day prior to the Indy500. Its the weekend before SITM, which we may want to change next year, but we figured it may be a good opportunity to get together with some of the people who come in to see the race.

Rod Underwood has graciously offered to host the event at his place, it a great venue, and already has half a dozen native 928's and a lift... what else can you ask for. Rod is conveniently located in the middle of nowhere, immediately east on 332 from 69 in the greater Muncie, IN area.

Come down to kick off the 928 season. If anyone wants to swing down beforehand, I am glad to host in Indy that Friday night, and can donate a couple couches at my place. Similarly, if people need a place to crash any night that week, they are more than welcome.

If you are interested, or were planing on coming in town for the race anyway, please post a response and let us know if you can come and how many you will have with you.

Also, it is worth mentioning that Indy928 is very non-discriminating in that we have joined forces with our local watercooled brethren, so don't be surprised to see a handful of 944s and the odd Boxster or Cayman. This is certainly not a 928 exclusive event.

Thanks

Hans

In my opinion, as long as you don't behave yourselves. ;-) Kyle, my son, would love to see those.

Lol, I got spanked by a Geo Tracker yesterday, pretty sad.
Of course it weighs about 8 pounds and has a BBC in it, but still..............

All we need is at least two Sharks to show up.

Parked besides Rod’s collection I’m fairly confident it will be the biggest 928 gathering ever the Hoosier State.

I’ll bring mine. Who else is in?

Google maps says it's ~ 264 miles and a 4.5 hr drive, that a no brainer if I don't have to work that weekend. Just got off a conf call about some IPV6 work taking place end of May into June,

Coming from you I think it's safe to assume that "Geo Tracker" is a stage name

I will bring my poor neglected 928. It does run, just not all there. Been a while since it has been seen in public.

Either that, or I may bring out the AMG. Its been sleeping a bit longer and could use a good run. 928 is certainly more appropriate, but the AMG is definitely a unique beast, to the best of my research its one of two original 5.0L 32v still "on the road." The rest died many years ago.

Either way, I will bring some interesting 928 bits for show and tell.

See you guys there,
Hans

No, it was actually a Geo, he stopped by today to rub it in a bit, asked me if I was tempted to actually hit the throttle.

It looks better now, these were taken a few months ago.

I thought of a simple "Tech Session" we could conduct for all that are interested.

I'll arrange to have the tool on hand for this weekend.

Sounds like a great overnight trip from the D. How difficult is it to find a hotel room that weekend in the Indy area?
