Clever fix, wonder where to get that resistor wire nowdays...

I fixed my magic blower syndrome by moving(bending) the wire packs away from bi-metal switch.
Tried first by adjusting the bi-metal switch contacts more far from each other, but that didin't work.
Perhaps time, heat and vibration brings the resistor wires closer to switch and makes it too sensitive, this will close the contacts and puts the blower to max speed intermittently.

Let google be your friend

Just measure the current thickness of the wire and order the same thickness. Then by using a multimeter, measure the correct length.
But hey, I still got some wire laying around on the workbench; when you're interested, PM me.

When the magic syndrome is still playing, are you sure your blower motor isn't pulling to much power? That way, the wires will get too hot, bending the two contacts towards each other...
