Default Car would not shut off

Have you ever pulled the key out of your 928 and the car did not turn off? That happened to me for the first time ever tonight. I stopped and turned the key and took the key out of the ignition and the car was still running. I put the key back in and turned it and it made that scratching noise. Finally I realized that I had left my head lights on so I turned them off, this time I took the key out of the ignition and the car finally turned off? Any explanation for this?

Oddly it only happened once all night because I made two other stops and the car turned off normally both times, the other two times I made sure to turn my head lights off before turning the car off.

Did you press the defrost button? It's probably the defrost relay.

defrost relay is sticking,
make sure to turn it off to the CCW position.

NOTE if you push it in it will have a self timer,
if you turn it CW it will run till you turn it off.

NOTE to stop the engine put the key in the ignition and turn it to the run position then pull the fuel pump fuse @# 42
