If it is indeed aluminum wouldn't it be destroyed upon start-up and pose little risk to the engine? It should be no match for all the moving engine parts.

this is the tool I used
It works great for the tight areas of the 928 engine.
The ability to bend it at right angles is awesome.
It has saved me many times!

I dropped an 18" 3/8" extension into my fuel tank....

I was using it to hold open the fuel flapper as I poured fuel in. The fuel can I was using didn't reach it. I was lucky enough when I took out my fuel level sender that my hands/arms are small enough in diameter that I was able to reach into my tank and retrieve it with my fingertips..... Talk about a close call. This was before I realized that I would be pulling my fuel tank to have it cleaned.
