Default Calling John Speake ECM's (early)

928 618 106 1
928 618 106 2
928 618 106 3
928 618 106 4

What are the differences between these?
I just pulled my 928 618 106 2 and replaced it with 928 618 106 4 to see if my warm high idle would settle down, and it did not; however, I did notice the timing appears to be changed (ear sound). There is less rumble with the 4 and more rumble with the 2.

Thanks John

Sorry Hedrick, I have no info on these L-Jet ECUs. L-Jet cars were never sold in the UK, probably not in Europe either.

PET should be able to tell you if these are equivalent to each other for your car.

928 618 106 01 Fuel Injection Brain 1980
928-618-106-02 which superseds to 928-618-106-04. fits porsche 928 model year 1981 to 1984
Alternate Stock Code 928-618-106-02; 928-618-106-03
928 618 106 04 Fuel Injection Brain 81-84

Kinda looks like 04 works on all but 80.

I seem to recall there were some changes in the distributor advance and retard systems, but not what or when.

Maybe something else occurred during the switching around?

L-Jet doesn't control the ignition timing, if that's what you meant. It might have a different O2 loop pattern.

'80 has different ignition and fuel curves as it was the last year of a different emission standard. (Note, no air pump this year, only, too.)

'82-on have an output for the MPG (L/100KM) meter.

03/04 will work on '80-'84.
