sorry I dont agree these parts take a lot or stress and they are known for cracking,
fresh non corroded steel is best

+1 ... the price of new is peanuts ... and paint acts as a lubricant when it gets hot.

100% Agreed. For 60 bucks you can replace them both.. Cheap $$ for peace of mind.
