Blah, blah, Enzo, blah...
I think I was in 5th or 6th grade when I was corrected (to the ego-decimating laughter of my grade school peers) that it wasn't Porsch-uh but Porsche.
You got any friends from way back that have changed their names but not to you? It was while others on the conference call today kept referring to my long-time friend Yani (yeah, like the cheezy 80's musician) as Calvin that I realized why I just can't bring myself to call my 928 a "porsh-uh".
So did Porsche create this controversy as a marketing ploy to gain attention?

Or is it simply if you own the car you can call it whatever you want?

It's not Porsh-uh.............duh....It's pronounced almost as a lazy "a"...smoothly no need to emphasize it
Difficult to explain if you DO NOT speak more than one language. THEN you will have an understanding on how words are pronounced, THEN you won't have to post a stupid thread.
I still to this day correct people, maybe not so directly

Be less direct. Drop one, with a beer. Chillzilla.

Interestingly, you'll rarely hear the German pronunciation in Australia ... except from Germans and some Europeans.
I don't care how someone pronounces it if they admire our cars.
