Rear quarter needs a torch to take off. Unless the damage was pretty extensive I would look at fixing it, its steel, so many places can beat it back to original or close.

The driver side can be beat out, but will be costly to have it done right.

The passenger side would have to be replaced. Also costly.

Also the rear bumper cover would have to be purchased and replaced. Also...........$

not to mention trim and whatever damage may be behind those panels...

AND that tape around the passenger quarter rear window..what's up with that? $$?

There is " frame damage " on the right side and fixing it is a BIG JOB ! The 1/4 window opening is tweaked. The car is not worth fixing, when a unibody gets whacked that hard everything gets bent.

Unless you go and measure each factory reference point on the underside of the car, there is no way to know just how bent that frame is. But most likely the rear "tub" or trunk area is totally bent and would need to be cut out and replaced. You are looking at thousands of dollars to fix it RIGHT, probably 2 to 3 times the purchase price, at least. If you just fix it cosmetically it will most likely not drive straight as the passenger side suspension geometry is most likely out of limit. i would stay away.

Cheers!

If the hit is above the rear crossmember and no frame damage, should be/maybe worth fixing,
Without looking at it, hard to tell.

Getting someone to fix it would be costly, if your good with your hands, get a garage to replace the panels, you do all the rest.

Stay away...for Book Value: $14,550 (they even said it's a 3.0L, so they don't know squat)
Price: $3,995

UNLESS you have the space, and tools, and time/know how....to part it out....you MAY recoup your $3,995

Anything can be fixed. I am buying the top off of an S4 (I think it is) from Rob Roy (Ken) in The Woodlands just north of Houston. I think he is going to recycle the rest of the body. I would guess he would sell you the right rear quarter clip for very reasonable if you can figure out how to get it to OKC. Just how much of it needs to be grafted onto the subject car will depend on what you find when you start cutting the damaged metal off.

I wouldn't pay more than about $2000 to $2500 for this car, however.

The factory WSM has some body dimensions for straightening. IIRC, there's a supplement/tech specs manual that has more dimensions included in the JM CD pack available from Roger. A plumb bob, some masking tape, a marking pen, and a tape measure. Transfer the frame points to marks on the floor, and measure to see if there's serious frame damage under the skin. I know that Dan H located an original straightening fixture for the car, and it's likely still here in SoCal, so it could be shipped to your frame shop for checking and stretching the car back into shape if needed. But.... Unless it's a really special car, the value at the end may not justify the cost and effort. Still, a basic point-to-point measurement effort will give you an idea about structural distortion.
