wow,when i look at the hole(yes hole) thing i really get confused. Looking at the dirt around the transmission you would think it had never had anything touched and from what i know the motor has been in there for 91000 miles. lost in space.

Auto Atlanta and other Porsche dealer sites have the ability, BUT you have to be a prior customer to log in.

I found their decoding isn't as accurate..

for example they tell me i have 2010 Cayenne 18" rims (on a 1982 with 16" rims)

Not much luck with the early vins.

Pelican has a thread on vin look ups and someone "I think sniffed" the location pet uses. A little work should find it, but making it too public is begging to have it nerfed.

Option decoder I use is

Fender stamped VIN is actually stamped into the frame with a notch in the fender so it can be read, isn't it?

In Calif if a highway patrol checked the car and no door jam vin, might not be fun.
