Default 944 turbo teledials

Im thinking of buying some for my 928s. They are 16x8 and 16x7 ET23 low off set, will these fit ok?

Many thanks

Peter

Find a set of 928 fronts (with correct offsets) to go with the 951 rears. 23mm Front offset is way too low. IIRC the original wheels had 67 or 68mm offset. Less than 58mm moves the tire out past where the steering rotates the spindle. That means that any force applied to the rolling wheel will be amplified into the steering rather than dampened. Hit a road irregularity and the car will pull towards that tire. Uneven front brakes will cause the car to pull towards one side. Tramlining on uneven pavement will be severe.

Porsche spent a lot of effort refining the "negative scrub radius" front steering geometry on the 928, getting clues from the then-emerging front-wheel-drive market on how to make a stable front end. Lots of experience the other way with the 911 cars as wheels got wider. It's part of why the 928 is reputed to have a numb on-center steering feel; lots of the things that upset the 911 cars with wider front wheels are taken in stride by the 928 when the correct offset wheels are fitted. Many folks have fitted wheels with 50mm offset and regreted the move enough to replace them with wheels with better offset numbers.

I have staggered 7" & 8"x16" '88 944 turbo phonedials (I like the term teledials, though) on my '85 and they work perfectly with the factory rear spacer. Need to know the year of your car and hence stud length and what your lipped (early) vs. non-lipped (late) preference is. That will dictate if this works to your expectation.

Here we go, I have the rear 951 teledials and front 928 teledials, just primed them ready for finishing. These are the lipped early 951 teledials. Do I need spacers for these? 1993 Euro 928s.

Not all 944 phone dials are the same offset.

That depends, if you want your 928 to look like this, they will work out just fine:

I like that shopping car wing, does anyone make one that fits in place of the GTS rear wing?
