dumper question

Default dumper question

Hi i have a question... what happend if i dont mount the damper in the engine??? my idea is not mount the damper and mount a pulley for a dry sump pump...
some ideas???

I'd leave the dampener and build a different pulley system, extended out a bit from the alternator pulley, and run it like the supercharger guys do.

The damper is there to absorb/balance destructive crankshaft harmonics. Leave it and do as Sean suggested.

I do have pics and even a CAD cutaway of a drysump pulley mounted in front of the damper.
To run without the damper would be a disaster so scrap that idea.

Here you go. I can't find the CAD view though, just a stock one.

I now have a different pan and pump mount but the pulley is in the same place.

It was a tight fit to keep the PS/alternator pulley in the same place, the only thing deleted was the AC.
I machined approximateley 1-3mm off of things to get it all to stack up.
