Default Did the gauge panel clean

Today I completed the removal.....cleaning and tests etc of the gauge pod...

Reinstalled,

voltmeter still not working although I get red light in key on position (haven't had that before) ..already tested the voltage at the battery so I know she is taking a normal charge.

So tach works again....was sporatic before....

Please look at the pics below. the MPG gauge (not that I am soo concerned about it).

Before the removal:

and after removal:

Is this the norm or is something wrong here??

is that at idle?

also if you pull the pod again and gently pry back the clear lens and remove you can clean all the crud (those speckels)around the face of the gauges with cleaner.

How does the clear lens come apart, It looks glued to me? Also on this subject. My speedo takes a little tap sometimes before it starts registering at low speeds. Is sounds like a common problem so what can I do to fix it while my pod is out. I cleaned up the circuit board. Should that fix it?

not sure about speedo. as for the clear lens, it is glued, i was able to use a razor knife and jewlers screw drivers to work the glue free ( i was nervor to break the lens but i took my time and it came apart with out cracking). i used clear silicone instead of glue on reinstall.

Mine looked worse have the one pictured in 1st post.

Not idle............... engine off, key off

I did clean everything, first pic is before, 2nd is after. The inside has a texture. That's the speckels (sic) you are seeing due to the flash of my cam.

it is not texure you are seeing. i thought so too until i used some vinyl cleaner and reached in the back to clean. when i relized it was crud Thats when i decided to remove clear lens in order to clean fully. it did take a lot of scrubbing! i'm certain it's not textured.
