Yes GTS cams are detuned for a better idle with the automatic but same are used in the 5 speeds. If it is still a 5 liter then WHAT is the GTS spec ?? . If they are wrong about that what else do they not know ?
Danglerb is correct all that it means when a bunch of money was spent is a bunch of money was spent. Have to ask WHY after spending all that is the car being sold ?? without being driven much.

If they truly bored it out to 5.4 bore, is the easiest route of cylinder finish just overboring, sleeving and honing to final clearance? I hear the factory process for finishing the bores uses some kind of aluminum eating acid which leaves more silica exposed, leaving a finish that retains oil/heat well and which is very hard wearing.

GTS has exact same 100mm bore as S4 etc.

And greatly altered the crankshaft, with 2 extra counterweights and another 7 mm of stroke.

Engine work was more than 3,000 miles ago, so its been 11 years and now time for a major service with timing belt before it should even be started.

Somebody ask the seller about details on what a GTS spec is, I can't keep myself polite that long to ask.
