Similarly, why not delete the coolant temp gauge? To have it just to see how a properly functioning cooling system keeps the water at the correct temperature all the time... useless.

Go with the new innovate digital MTX.
It's more reliable than the LCD-1, does all the same and has a gauge.

$200. It has the ability to provide a simulated narrow band signal to the ECU if you only have one O2 bung in the exhaust. The preferred installation method though is to have two bungs and have a stock narrowband for the ECU and the other bung for the wbO2. Then all you have to do is find a place for the gauge.

With my Tec-4 GT engine management I believe it is suppose to have the wide band and I just never got around to it and managed a richer setting.
I think the gauge would be over kill as the laptop display has a nice electronic Dash.
It is very nice for the price.
What's a WB worth without the gauge?

Without a gauge it will only be a tuning helper, since you will need a laptop hooked up with software running to see the wbO2's output. In that configuration, it would only be useful for a modified car. The point is to have a gauge so you can glance at it at any time. If a running issue crops up, you can look at it and immediately see what is going on. For example, when my fuel pump got jammed due to a split in-tank pump hose, the car started sputtering. I looked down at the wbO2 gauge and it was in the 20:1 range. I instantly knew it was a fuel problem and that it was probably related to the fuel pump.

My car has a plate with two gauges installed where the ashtray used to be.

Many aftermarket EMSs need some sort of board or module to read the wideband properly for input.

Some guages come with a realtime 0 - 5v voltage output built in, that eliminates the need for a module.

Some also have 2 seperate outputs, 1 for wideband and 1 for narrow.

Wideband in any car is great for tuning if nothing else.

Just my 2¢

Hey guys , I was changing oil and I saw that plug hanging . Is that o2 to ecu wire? And i also looked for o2 itself and I think it might have a plug on the o2 hole in the driver side header. Is that where the o2 supposed I be ? Driver side exhaust header?

W/o pic I'm not sure, but I think the bung you refer to in the header (should be one on each side) is for a EG sample tube. New, your car had one on each side, running to top of engine near the rear of the fuel rail with a blue cap on it. These all rust or break off and should have been removed and plugged with a screw into the bung at the exh. pipe.
