Default Partsgeek..anyone ever deal with them?

Recently bought 2 Zimmerman front rotors from them; they shipped from a local Worldpac distributor. Come to find out both rotors were right side, so I asked them if we can arrange an exchange for a driver side rotor just for uniformity. They issued an RMA for BOTH rotors and expected me to pay shipping charges back to NJ (where they didn't even ship from).

THEN my second order (before I received the first order) from them (rear rotors and pads) were confirmed shipped from TN but I received an email saying I was being refunded for the 2 rear rotors, which I had no complaint about (yet). All I asked was an exchange of the second right-side front rotor. Checked the Fedex tracking and the shipment from TN apparently are just the pads at 6.1 lbs!!!!!

Have anyone here dealt with these guys, and any luck with them??

They are a lot more expensive than buying from your regular 928 parts suppliers.
And your regular 928 suppliers would have dealt with this in a much more proffesional way.

Yeah they were not professional, probably items not in stock and a scam to collect on shipping charges perhaps.

The prices for the parts themselves were reasonable.

I suppose this will be a lesson, use the Rennlist sponsors/vendors and you will save money and a couple of weeks worth of stupid issues.

I can buy direct from WorldPac and still buy parts for 928's from Roger, Mark A and DR.
I bet Roger's price would have been less than you paid for them and they would have been the correct ones.

For sure a lesson, better to deal with 928 enthusiasts.

Front rotors Part #: W0133-1610753 and Part #: W0133-1610690 were $95 each

Rear rotors Part #: W0133-1609484 @ $65 apiece

Seemed to be decent prices

LOL I never had the chance to recieve the rear brakes to see if they would fit...the fronts were correct quality Zimmermann...only complaint was the WORLDPAC distributors shipped 2 right-sdie rotors rather than a left and a right.

I am not complaining of the quality, only the service.

If Worldpac shipped the wrong ones, 99% chance the vendor that placed the drop ship order screwed up. This is a big issue when you are dealing with internet "parts places" most of the time they don't have the part on hand, have a small relationship with the main distribution point, and are trying to make a quick buck.

As Greg pointed out, a lot of us can order from WP, but choose not to because people like Roger have a much better relationship with them, can get us better prices and faster/more accurate shipping. I pay a small bit extra to Roger to have those parts same day or next day, and I know they are right. Actually, that's not right, I usually save a few bucks having him do the parts orders for me.

It's amazing how many people will use e-bay or google and think they are saving a few bucks on parts. I see it all the time on here when people spout getting a part from RockAuto for $45.00, when I can call up our favorite Englishman, and get it for $35.00 an it is here same day or next day.

The invoice from the vendor had the correct part numbers (not defending them as they should have provided better customer service)

The 2 boxes from Worldpac had (on the end) the same part numbers which clearly stated RIGHT rotor, there was also a small internal sticker place on one of the boxes denoting the content as 928-351-043-01 which in fact original marking was 928-351-044-01.

Lesson learned, so who is the better vender to get my rear rotors from??

thanks guys

Notwithstanding the spelling errors....(too long in the colonies I suspect)..
A valid and accurate statement.

The funny thing is, for many modern cars you received the correct rotors. So the parts picker at World Pac probably thought he was pulling the correct parts.

I'm not talking about Toyota or Hyundai, but Mercedes (even the AMG's) and Corvette's.

Don't believe me?
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...rectional.html

The C6 Z51 from GM has only left side rotors with only one stock number for front and one for rear. There has been a lot of discussion about this and from my summary - its about a 10% loss on the right side .......

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w211...direction.html

Unfortunately this is the way they are. A cheap move on MB's part. It's the same with the AMG rotors. Even worse, look at the vanes on the rotors: one goes in the proper direction and the other goes the opposite. That's absurd. Instead of inventorying a right and left, they just make a 'one size fits all.'

Come on guys, bet up to speed.....this is the latest and greatest!!! All of the cars we dream about owing in the other thread do it, why not the 928???

Always good to buy from someone who owns a 928 , has seen a 928 , at least has some idea what one LOOKS like. Internet drop shippers have no clue what they are doing. They never even touch the parts !
