Default Anyone near Raleigh NC with an 86? --- SHE RUNS! No need for computer now...

Anyone near Raleigh NC with an 86 that would be willing to help me test my LH unit? I now know the wiring in the harness is correct. I have traced every wire in the harness and now know that everything is going where it should. There were 2 FI plugs where they switched wire colors for some reason. On 6 of the plugs they used red/yellow for the left side of the plug looking at the front with the circle cutout on the top and red/brown for the other side. I found 2 connectors with red/brown wires actually switched with the red/yellow ones from the factory. I didn't see anything like that on the wiring diagram and I am getting pretty familiar with it these days.

Anyway, I would hope that 2 switched FI plugs would not fry the LH but I guess anything is possible. I have new dampners and sensors comming from Roger along with new adjustable fuel pressure regulator should be here by Friday. I am hopeing that is the issue.

What I would like to do is plug my computer in another 86 to see if it runs. Roger says this is the best test. He doesn't carry the rebuilt ones because they never break.

I have a neighbor who just picked up an 86.5 here in Apex, NC. Going to check with him. Not sure he's resurfaced on RL just yet.

I have 2 pair of computers (1 is chipped) you use to test. Both off 86's.

BC (Brendan) has a pair of my computers for testing. Haven't heard from him in a while on whether or not he was using them.

Thanks Guys,
I am actually in Garner just right off I 40 exit 298 it is 70/401. I would be willing to entertain any help that someone would be willing to offer. I have 2 weeks to get this thing running before wife goes for major surgery, then it is play nurse for long time....

I will pm my phone number to anyone who is interested or call you which ever is best.

Mark, I sent the PayPal today. Sorry I forgot... How did the launch go?

NC_Growler, that would be great. It is a pretty quick thing to just hook my computer up to his harness to see if the car starts... I will buy whatever beer you guys would like... Wife is going back out on book signing tour tomorrow so I will have all weekend to work on the shark.

Thanks again,

86_5Tiburon,
Man, I am sorry I didn't respond to you earlier. I just might take you up on that offer. First I wan't to test my computer in someone elses car to ensrue there is nothing going on on my car that might mess up your computer too. I would be interested in the chipped set since that is the way I am headed. chips, x-pipe and rmb. Man, I miss it so much, that I pulled up along side of a new Maseratti yesterday, lowered the window just to enjoy the symphony. It was just awsome but I miss having my own. Would you be interested in selling one set or the other? if so how much?

Thanks,

Thanks to everyone who helped me with this. I have learned more with this no start issue than I ever would have with just the rebuild. I have great oil pressure but still have some issues to deal with. Will open new thread for one of those, I know how to fix the others.
