Default Pictures of GPS and Sirius/XM antennas

Hello all,

Was wondering if anyone that has already installed GPS and Sirius/XM antennas can share pictures of how and were that installed them.

I am trying to fiind a housing (symilar to the BMW shark fin) that I can hide them under.

In my (now retired) Audi allroad I discovered that the Sirius antenna works fine hidden inside the dashboard. Mine was hidden behind the instrument cluster, facing the windshield. This was a mistake at first, I had dropped the thing behind the dash pod and realized it was delivering about 90% signal strength, plenty for reception.

May be worth a try for you. Haven't tried it in the 928 yet but plan to see how it does either in the pod or under the dash on the glovebox side.

I included info and pics years ago in this thread
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...upid-long.html
I am not a fan of the shark fin. I bought an aluminum stubby for the AM/FM which looks more the business than a shark fin...jmho

Good luck!

Mine is on my dash in-between the vents. I have done it this way on four different cars and it works great. Then again, my MY does not have an antenna other than a thin line in my windshield.

Could you post a pic?

Sounds like a unique install.

Not a good picture, but here are my GPS antenna for the radar detector and the Sirus radio, they are on a bracket that sits in the lower right hand corner of my windshield.
When I do the carputer I will try to install them in a more hidden spot, plus there will be one more of them, so they are not going to all fit there.

I am not so sure how unique, but here is a flash shot from inside and one from outside. I also included a photo of my bluetooth mic location on the DS parcel tray next to the center console. I can take daylight pics if anyone thinks it warrants them.

The wire hanging in photo three is my USB wire (which usually just sits on the DS parcel tray) for phone plug in.

Quick follow up question:
I skimmed through the post but to be honest, mostly looked at the pictures :-/
Can you tell me if you had to completely remove the headliner?

i used the hole in the rear hatch for the stock bee antenna. then used a "shark fin" antenna cover over that.

No I did not have to remove the headliner...just loosen the edge od it and use a wire coat hanger or something to pull it through...pretty easy.

I don't know how the early cars are, but the GTS antenna are not on the hatch, they're on the roof.

That was my original plan until I read Keith's idea for the third brake light. I like the look of the original bee sting antenna and that option lets me keep it the way it is.

Thank for the feedback

Thanks again Keith. What side of the car did you go with (a pillars)?
