Default Source for ball socket for headlight adjusting rod?

anyone know where to find the little plastic ball sockets that are riveted to the bottom rear of the headlamp assemblies? one of my lights has a ball socket with two out of four broken tabs and the rod won't stay put. I could drill one out of an old assembly, of course, but then I'd still have 20+ year old brittle plastic.

If you find a source then let me know - I changed over a 'new' socket to one of my lights to get the adjusting rod to stay put just like you are proposing.

if your crafty get some mechanics wire and loop it around the housing the tie it to the shaft ,
snug the wires against the rear of the ball.
