Torque Tube Removal ( 5 Speed )

UPDATE:
I have had a small oil leak at the input shaft at the front of the transmission.
Today the seal arrived and I have removed the old seal. I can see a very small amount of oil behind where the seal sets. According to the WSM there is a large O-ring behind the casing and it probably needs to be replaced as well. The WSM states to remove the very large C-clip and " turn and pull" the casing to remove.
Question:
Is it worth replacing the O-ring and if so how difficult is it to remove the casing?

UPDATE:
I went ahead and replaced the seal in the input shaft. So far no leaks.
The installation of the torque tube went very smoothly and the new "Super Bearings" are as smooth as glass.
Thanks Constantine
One advantage for removing the TT and leaving the transmission in the car for MY '85 '86 is that you do not have to get a alignment for the rear end when you are done.
Also having pulled a transmission and reinstalling it I believe it is a two man job due to the weight and awkwardness of the transmission.
To me the TT was easily a one man job.

Ah, too late for me to post intructions how to do the job as I just did my 79 manual.
I think the only difference was I made a support to put under the front end of the TT unbolted the transmission mounts and the 4 bolts at the front of the TT, slid the lot back enough to drop the upper bell housing (wanted to clean it) and with the rear clamp undone and the front clamp done back up used a lever to pull the drive shaft clear of the input shaft clamp on the tranny.
Then it was just a simple matter of undoing the 6 bolts at the back and lowering the TT on two jacks.
On install I bolted the TT to the tranny and pushed the driveshaft back into the clamp until it lined up on the cut out bit on the shaft for the clamp bolt.
I didn't want to drop the entire rear subframe as I was doing the job on my own on my drive way.
Good job on your job, it is nice to get these done, mine was sqeaking a bit, the bearings were pretty rough. (did the pilot and throwout too)
