Flood is one of the most common ways a car gets a certificate of destruction. Flooding is easy to hide and the insurance companies do not want to pay out on the same loss twice.

I think is is a little cold in SD at the moment.

There was an 87 white car down in Florida recently that was complete going for cheap with a certificate of destruction.

add south dakota and nebraska cars to the list of flood suspects.

the chances with this being a flood car has to be near 100 %.

Great, and I think the analysis goes something like this:

Florida, Nebraska and South Dakota all have prisons that are popuated in part with rapists and murderers, and there are some of the same yet to be apprehended in each of those states. Therefore if someone is in or from one of those states and if they even look a little like they might be a rapist or murderer, the chances that they are is 100 percent.

Give me a break.

Jerry, I see what you are doing here, trying to get Odur to post more often so we can ogle his babelicious avatar w/o having to go back and look at old posts, and I'm totally onboard with that.

Seller told me that the car was a theft recovery and that it was side swiped on the passengers side necessitating among other things replacement of the passengers side door. Who knows. IMO it's a $5k car.

I'd pay $5K for it as the basis for a track car if the engine doesn't have TBF and the GTS brake calipers are there. But if there was ever a project car to see in the flesh before paying for it, this is it....

I talked to the seller about this car, finally. He seems like a pretty nice guy and is at least moderately knowledgable about 928s. He denies that the car is a flood car. He mentioned some collision damage which fits what about ABOL describes. He also said it has some numerous mechanical issues.

The seller told me the car has been sold and that he has a deposit for half of the purchase price--a little less than it is/was listed for. The buyer is in Michigan. No name asked for or offered.

I hope it is going to a good home.
