When i left here last Wednesday I had 50 miles on the trip clock and when i got to Spring Fling I had 1550. That included about 60 extra miles that I ate up going around the road closure just north of Amalillo due to the four foot hail storm deposit. I have see the ground covered with hail, but never as deep as 3 or 4 inches which is what it was where I got stopped behind a very long line of traffic, but the line of traffic was stalled because of four feet of hail about 3 or 4 miles south of where I finally furned around. That's probably some kind of historical record.
On the trip down I went through Ft Worth and Houston to get some 928 stuff I didn't want to have shipped, so I figure I may have gone about 150 to 200 miles out of my way for that.
However, when I got home about an hour ago I have 2960 miles on the same trip clock which means that even though I came a more direct route home through San Angelo up into Lubbock and connected with my route down at Amarillo, if I take the first 50 miles off and the 60 extra that means it was just under 1450 miles there via Ft Worth and Houston, but the more direct roiute home was only about 50 miles shorter, although now that I think about it I came back through Denver and that will add about 40 miles, but not much to the travel time. Yesterday I made right at 950 miles in about 14 and a half hours.
Actually I noticed that I put about 850 miles on the clock from Rock Port to Texline in about 12 hours. That is a lot of driving and still being in Texas.
I guess the more direct route saved me about 100 miles.
Overall it was a great trip and I had a lot of fun and even got some fitting of the GTS WW liners with Tony's GTS. I think we we all kind of hoping that the "fitting" was going to turn out to be an "Install" but they didn't fit nearly that well. I am back to the drawing board sort of or at least back to modifying the outer liner half form, again.
Thanks Tony and Tambra for hosting such a great event.
I didn't sell the watches, I gave them as door prizes. Since the number of people did not exceed the number of watches I was giving away from my collection, everyone got one, and the drawing was for choice. I hope everyone was pleased with their choice.

After working till 11pm the night before on a TB light issue, my blonde assistant an I caught up with Herman and Barb Friday morning and we made it down in record time (chasing that red blur.)...We had a great time. Thanks for everyone who made it happen. It was great to meet some new people, and see some old friends. Look forward to next time.

Once again, another awesome 928 event! Thanks to Tony and Tambra for hosting a wonderful weekend. Herman and I always enjoy the driving...and, the 928 group is forever fun and full of surprises! We had a blast and look forward to seeing all at OCIC this summer, if not before.
And, thank you Jerry for the watches. I love mine and have always desired a 'Jerry' watch. You're a gem! So glad you made it back to CO safely. Next time, maybe in a 928??
My thanks to all for the great camaraderie! Just love my 928 friends!
