Default 1/8 inch leg staple / stapler source

I am recovering panels in my 79. Appears factory used 1/8 inch leg staples to hold the edges to the panels.

I have found a 3/8 inch crown, 1/8 leg staple by Duo-Fast but the duo-fast gun to shoot them is $150.

Any recommendations on sources for cost effective solutions or other staple sizes that would work?

Thanks
Jim

I would suggest just finding a USED gun maybe on Ebay or Craigslist. I found mine that way.

JT21CM™ All Chrome Tacker Gun
staples at Homedepot

Stanley
1/4 in. Light-Duty Staples (1,000-Pack)

Model TRA204T

Make sure to get staples that are not chisel cut so they go in straight,
if the staple legs are cut at an angle then the legs will splay,
especially bad when installing a bumper beading as the legs can come out the sides of the PU,
use an extension and hammer to tap the staples into position

Hi Jim. Here are some pictures of my closest combination. The staples measure .330 inches across and the box of them is marked 5/32" which I think in the length. The staple gun is a pretty cheap one, but I don't remember where I got it. It has a sticker on it from Empire Staple company in Denver. The inside depth of the staples measures about .140 inch.

I hope this helps.

Or, if you like I could simply loan you these because I doubt that I will get all of these staples used up in the next few weeks. I do use the staple gun once in a while, but usually with longer staples. If so, PM me your address (again?) since I am going to to P.O. shortly and I can put these in a flatrate box and mail them today. You will have them by Tuesday, I think.
