New '82 US-spec 928
Hi guys, new to the forum and new to Porsche.
I recently bought an 82 US 928, strong running condition, usual interior improvements needed but not so bad.
I will post pics soon (car is not at my home now) as I tackle some electrical work this coming weekend.
Quick question, she has an auto tranny but the shift handle button is on the right side of the handle.. Is this normal or can I flip it to the thumb (left)side?
Thanks again

You may be able to turn it around. Two small screws at the base of the T shifter.

I am with the others... I think some idiot just put it on backwards for some crazy reason... I guess they are trying to work out their pinky finger or something... Why would you make that mistake of all things???

ok I was **** all week about pics.
This weekend I repaired a leak from the fuel tank fitting strainer to the fuel pump.
Didn't have the correct seal but found a decent size o-ring in buna material I had laying around in my o-ring kits.....sealed well and so far no leak...checked everything else back in the system..all good
I originally worried it was a tank crack but apparently not..I ordered the correct seal anyway to have a backup in the future.
After a Sunday break to relax, today I removed the CE panel. removed all fuses and relays and have all the connections clean...
reinstalled and I now have no buzzes or malfunctions in the electric system..
next weekend's projects are flush the tranny, replace filter, and new pan gasket...
have to tackle the gauges though..intermittent and tach works when it wants...

Congrats on the purchase--the early 80's cars are the best bang for the buck. I've never seen a strut brace bent like that--someone drove that car like they were meant to be driven (or they jumped a lot of curbs ) Did you get the T-handle sorted out?
BTW - Based on the boats around you, you know you can put a trailer hitch on a 928. Strange, but true...
