Does that part even exist? If so, I want one, too!

Just picked up an 80 (non S) with no rear wiper, so would think that they exist. T

I would say that would be a very very rare option.

I had an 80 that had the rear wiper delete. It was nice to have such a clean uncut hatch. I doubt Porsche would have made a special spoiler for the very few S cars that were ordered without a rear wiper. If it exists it would be an extremely rare piece.

Or make a foam insert to retro the car into this option... I'd buy it.

I just pinged Jerry Feather about making one a few days ago. I hope it becomes a reality.

Been reworking a rear spoiler for the Just Peachy project, deleting both side wings, and the long legs that go up the rear hatch. The fabrication might be a little easier if we could find a rear spoiler without the wiper indentation (if they even exist). Also looking to design a simple, smallish spoiler for the front of this 80. Maybe something along the lines of the old Superbird front spoiler. 77Tony

Carve out some foam to fill it, then use the spoiler as a form for fibreglass.

OR

I have this spoiler you could use instead. Willing to sell, or trade.

I think an insert made of similar material as the spoiler (pour-in urethane foam?), with the same edge radiuses, would look great. Add a few coats of Girot's Black Bumper Conditioner, then tacked in place with a couple of dabs of glue, would be the answer.

All of my cabinet shop tools are in storage in Cali, otherwise I could knock one out pretty quickly.

Go to Cali, pick up your tools, then bring them to Rockport when you go fishing. T

No part number for a wiperless spoiler.

I am not sure about deleting the side "S" spoilers...that will be interesting to see... Well, interesting to see with a little lip style spoiler just on the back...

Hey Jim D. aren't there some pics of some prototype 928's with a small "lip" style spoiler just on the hatch and nothing on the sides???? I KNOW I have seen this before!

Tony, I understand (and understood) what you were saying... Just wondering what it would look like...

I found the answer... Pages 137, 138 and 142 in Project 928 show a Pre-production or Prototype with just the same kind of thing you are looking to do... Check it out!

James, I cannot delete what's not there. It's already a non "S" 80, so will actually be adding this time T

Projekt 928 shows green and silver prototypes with a center only spoiler. There's also wind tunnel pics with a much larger flat panel.

Here is a pic from a dealer brochure from '79 or '80 showing the first 'S' body. It has a spoiler that looks to be taller than the production versions - could just be the angle. It has a wiper. (Note also the early 931 rims, with a bad front offset. Proper 928 rims must not have been ready, yet.)

I'd like to have hollow fiberglass copies of the S spoiler...so I could put linear actuators in the side sections to raise a wing section at speed or when braking.

Quick Reply: 80-86 rear "S" Spoiler with wiper delete ?
