Default Dual disc clutch master cyl. pushrod adjustment?

The service manuals say .5mm of play in the MC and 3mm at the pedal. When I start to press the pedal, I can here a little "click". Is that click the point of contact between the pushrod and the cylinder? If not, how can you tell the point at which it makes contact?

Think that click might be the cruise control interupt switch. When I set mine the play was the loose feel versus hitting resistance of the mc plunger. You also have the preload spring at the top of the pedal to have to add into the mix.

The free play is easier to sense when you move the pedal with your hand.

If you remove the helper spring, it should be very easy to feel the free play by lifting the pedal.
