Excuse the delay - Christmas followed by catastrophic PC failure.

As far as I can see from Rob's pics, the ones he has are the same molding and fastener positions as mine - although the ones he posted have different front sunvisor fasteners? I see a round receiver indent, and possibly a different triangular plate for the visor arm?

Being leather, mine has shrunk, and hence pulled away from the fiberboard around the curves. That's why its out - to get new leather. The leather had delaminated from the adhesive and the 3mm medium density foam, and was drooping down. I have a bunch of black leather bits to get the interior refurbed (everything except the doors and seats) - I just need to get my 87 back on the ground and driving before I yank the 89's dash

Here's some pics..

The holes around the edges (both sides and the rear edge by the hatch) had black body panel clips (single groove, not double like the white ones in the doors).

Front corners each have a screw with a bevelled washer, as well as the screws for the visors. The front edge also has the visor receivers each held with a single screw.

Each rear corner has a screw with a bevelled washer, and another hole for a screw from the top of the rear quarter panel.

Pics of the non sunroof GTS from 2010. The owner came to Tass's GTG in spring 2011 this year. Looked real nice, Dave C also had the car up at his place for a little work and he knows the car and its condition better than me.
Looked real nice!

Thanks Hilton and Ispeed for the pics. That really helps.

Hilton, while you have your headliner out you should brush on a couple of coats of CPES (Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer) to make the fiber board composite much stronger, waterproof and significantly less likely to warp. Every panel in my cars that are made of this stuff is painted with CPES before going back in.

Not sure there is a West Marine store anywhere near you but here is a link to their U.S. webstore. Just about any Marine chandlery will have CPES. Be sure to use either the "Cold" or "Warm" derivative depending upon the temps when you apply it. This is a really great fix for a common weakness in the interiors of our cars. Of course you need to make sure your panels are straight or as originally molded before applying the CPES otherwise is will harden in the shape it was when applied.

CPES Description and West Marine pics.

Smiths is another good brand. This link also has a video of what it is and how to apply it.

Default Simple Non Functioning Sunroof solution?

I'm looking for a sample non functioning sunroof solution for my 1980.
I've gotten the sunroof back/open thru the sunroof crank and it appears I am missing the rails, feet, etc.
I've got the motor and transmission - those are in good working order.
For the time being though i'm looking for a solution as the rear/back of the sun roof sinks about 1 inch below the roof line when in fully closed position.
what is missing?
I could just wedge a couple of tube socks back there but - the cosmetics of it would be horrible....
