Those are also on my list.

I just came from sears where I picked up the flare wrenches - regular and crowfoot (can't hurt to have on hand).

Not sure if this will work because I forget the rear configuration, but it SeanR recommended it for a certain fuel supply line and it worked there.

Sometimes you can cut the hose, then use a box wrench, sometimes 2, both for the counterhold and the fitting.

This job blows!

I've been at it about 3.5 hours (I work very, very slow). One rear brake line has successfully been removed and replaced with a new one.

I had to remove the old line from the caliper end first (twisting and breaking the old line in the process...the point of no return), then unscrewed the 17mm end from the hardline flare fitting as somebody here suggested. I used CRC Freeze Off, a flare wrench, and very careful use of visegrips (padded with rubber bands) to work the fitting loose.

The job wouldn't really be that bad if there was more room to turn wrenches. The fronts should be easier in that respect.

Now it's on to the other 3 lines....
