Default S4 Auto Transmission Swap: WYIT stuff to do

From this post:

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...ml#post9060533

Podguy:

Im going with the full tranny swap to the 89 Auto with the 2.54 I want, plus it has the nice lower 1st as well.

What other "while im there" jobs (short of tranny rebuild) should I put into plan there?

TC bearings
TC input seal
Front pump O-ring
Im guessing theres a few soft tranny lines to swap back there?
TT bearings

Greg said at SF11 there's some set of parts that are "easy" to replace with the tranny out as well, any insight on what those might be?

My Transmission WYAIT list;

Transmission:
TC bearings
TC seal
TC rivets
Front pump seal
main oil seal
new filter
new 1180 pan gasket
new tranny mounts
Replace kickdown cable o-ring.
I also replaced the vacuum line and repaired the electrical cable.
Cooling Hoses - Replace all 4. I replaced only the back 2 and ended up replacing the front 2 after they started leaking.
Run a couple cans of Kooler Kleen through the metal lines and the radiator cooler to clean everything out before reconnecting everything.

Torque Tube:
Replace bearings
Replace the rubber heat shield - mine was destroyed and I had alot of heat coming through the console.

Engine:
With the TT / Tranny out;
Replace rear main seal
New flywheel bolts
Check flexplate for straightness
Update clamp for flexplate (Pklamp etc).

Rear Axle:
CV joint clean/inspect - repack/replace.
Replace CV joint boots.
Replace Rear Wheel Bearings.
Replace/update rear shocks/springs (they will be off anyway).
Brakes - caliper/rotor clean, new disc pads and parking brake shoes.
Replace parking brake cable if needed.

Exhaust:
new gaskets, sealing ring.
Replace O2 sensor if needed.

I also replaced many of the nuts and bolts just for good meaure.
If I do it again - I will add - Trans oil temp / Diff oil temp sensors.

I removed and installed the tranny / TT / Flexplate as a complete unit using 2 floor jacks (one with trans cradle).

Good Luck.

GREAT list..im gonna have to nix a few things in the interests of time/money while it's in the shop..basically prioritize what could be a major problem -vs- annoying one..at which point Id go back in to resolve it.

But awesome list!

Definitely trans mounts and oil cooler lines. Plus overflow hose from tranny to ATF Reservoir.
