which year shifter?

which year shifter?

As it says the shifter with the closest holes = which year? I know the one with widest spread is from a n 82,but have know idea what year the other is from. Is there any reason not to use either on any year 928? thanks in advance,Ray

Shorter holes = 1985 (borg warner boxes) to 1989.
