Default Another no start shark (fuel pump)

i bought this car (82us) a couple years ago from some old drunk who cobbled everything together and destroyed the interior to this car. it ran well after i replaced the timing belt. i was deployed to iraq and had no place to work on the car so it sat for about 2 years total. it was started periodically for most of this time. well now i cant get it started ive read many posts concerning no starts. but my issue lies in the fuel pump circuit i have a brand new fuel pump, filter, and fuel pump relay. i have power to the fuse and i have power to #15 on the relay but nowhere else in the relay. im assuming this is why my jumper wouldnt work. an issue i keep running across is in all the fuse charts im reading fuse 22 is not used now in the wiring diagrams 82 & 83 post #30 in the relay runs to fuse 22 ive doublechecked this on my central fuse panel. so masters of the 928 if you could think about my issue and try to help me figure this out id do burnouts in your honor lmfao (on a side not my car is an 82 but it has the newer 83 cam gears and when i set up the fuse panel for an 82 things dont work properly but setup for an 83 everything that i can see seems to work properly)

There continues to be some uncertainty on the '83 fuse chart.

Our fuse chart for the '82 shows a 25 Amp fuse in slot #22 for the fuel pump, and my copy of the Factory Workshop Manual agrees.

Our fuse chart for the '83 shows #22 not used, and a 16 Amp fuse in slot #13 for the fuel pump. My copy of the Factory Workshop Manual says that the fuel pump on the '83 uses a 16 Amp fuse in slot #22.

We have had some folks report that their '83 uses #13, some that theirs uses #22.

In your case, use a test light to check for 12 vdc on both connectors (not the fuse, but the connectors) on Fuse #22 and Fuse #13. If both have power, then pull the fuel pump relay (Relay XVII - be sure that you understand the tiny arrowheads on the panel that identify the relays). Check Terminal 30 in the relay socket for 12 vdc. If you have power, then hook a temporary jumper between Terminals 30 and 87 in the relay socket - the fuel pump should run.

Terminal 30 in the socket should be connected to the output of fuse #22.
Terminal 87 in the socket should be connect to the fuel pump.

ok this car is gonna make a liar out of me yet haha so i went to test like you suggested.there is power at conector for fuses 13 & 22 and now i have power at 30. jumper trick works now. so im not understanding what the issue is its a brand new relay you can feel it click when you turn the key on also with the key on i get power to 15 on the relay. while cranking i get power to 31b test light is very dim and pulsing

problem believe to be solved it was the relay. when checked side by side with the new relay purchased the new relay was incorrect. thank you for the help with the fuse panel dilemma i called the place i got the relay from the said it crossed perfectly the one they sent was a kae 3.308.200 but looking at them side by side the routing looks incorrect to to me [IMG][/IMG]
