Sean:

We do not have to smog our old cars anymore, but still have to pass annual visual inspections. Hi flow cats would serve dual purpose.

Authothority was a waste of time for 87+. For years there was general consensus for the 85 and 86 that there were reliable, modest gains which pretty much ruled for bang for the buck mods. There are clearly better options today with more bang for the buck. Nobody in their right mind today would buy a 90's vintage Autothority chipset.

Keep in mind that 85 and 86 cars stock generally dyno at around 250 RWHP baseline before mods, which suggests that I attained a 20+ hp gain with a conservative chipset + RMB. The next owner of my Porsche may actually appreciate conservative over aggressive? I dunno.

X is probably curently the best starting point because you want to dial in electronics to maximize the system. Back to topic: People should toke from the X pipe before trying other vices.

Don't get me wrong - I loved the noise at track days!
