Im going to do the heads on my GT. I will be replacing the seals, so I wonder what kind of valve condoms you guys are using?

Any input appreciated!

I use the whole thumb off a thin latex glove. The fit is a little loose, but the feel is a lot better.

I think the two of us who responded were kidding. I know I was.

I am guessing the what you are talking about is vlave guide seals. If that is the case I suspect there are a lot of better and cheaper sources for these than Porsche. Try 928 International or Roger at 928sRus. These are both great sources for anything 928 related.

If I am wrong about what you are talking about, please try again is more technical terms than condoms. Thanks.

The valve "condom" is used to protect the new valve seal from getting torn while pushing it down on the shaft of the valve stem. ...and yes..glove fingers work

What he is looking for is a cover that goes over the end of the valve stem that keeps the newly installed seals from getting nicked when the valve is being installed. The last set of steam seals I've put on were form a Mazda and the stem seal set came with two of these covers.

I have a few of the factory ones, they work well, and are cheap enough.

Call Rog and get them.

Ok, the basics..............

A valvecondom is something that you place on top of the valve whilst mounting the valve stem seals into place. Its to prevent damage to the valvestem seals when they silde over the grooves for the valvespring retainers.

Jerry: have you been cutting of the left thumb or the right thumb (just in case)?
