Tony, for a non-fuel-cell car, my dummies version is on page 2 of this thread, with lots of detail:

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...44-pump-2.html

This set up failed on me during the Sharktoberfest fun run because of a cheap fuse holder, now replaced with a better quality one from Waytek Wire. The fuse holder itself is within the battery compartment, for space considerations.

I recently finished doing another install on Dan H's car, here are some pics:

Relay tucked in spare tire well, and shrinkwrapped harness running over to the passenger side grommet:

044 pump and filter:

044 wiring: This wiring is a little different from the setup I did in the linked thread above. You'll note the factory 'ground' boot is just sitting on top of the filter outlet, not connected to the 044 pump. Its 'second' end is still connected to the in-tank pump, but for the 044 I ran a direct ground (dark brown wire, looks black) to the ground point in the spare tire well. The red wire is coming from pin 87 in the spare tire well, and the green wire is spliced into the red/green switched power wire and connected back to pin 86 of the relay in the spare tire well. So there are 3 wires to pull from the spare tire well to the fuel pump area.
