Default New Guy Checking In.

Hello all. I am not sure if it is appropriate to do an introduction on this forum or not. I own several non-Porsche forums, and we appreciate when people say hello, so I thought I would do the same here.

I have been lurking a while now, reading the posts here, and it seems like a bunch of informative, good folks. I like this forum, and hope to hang around a while.

Have been a Porsche fanatic since I was a teen in the '80's. Been driving them for about 15 years.

I presently own a Red on Black 1988 S4. 5-speed. Nothing too crazy. Updated wheels, full stainless exhaust, short shift, Nology Ignition, RMB, blah, blah blah. The usual upgrades. Hope to learn a lot from you guys, and save a bit by doing more of my own maintenance.

Here's the cash cow....

Thanks for the welcome. It is definitely a repaint. Very well done, however.

Welcome, looks like a nice ride you have,
I like the the early style TT wheels .

Of course you know the kNn filter should be removed,
and the factory filter installed ,
this will keep your MAF happy .

So what forums do you own?

Nice car! I'm with Stan, ditch the K&N. Also, may want to fill out your profile so we know your general location.

The K&N was a previous owner upgrade, and I was unaware of the MAF issues. Thanks. I saw the price on those pigs, and I don't want to have to buy one.

I will gladly PM you the names of my forums. They are firearm related, as I am a big German and Russian gun collector. Some people do not like firearms, and since this is not a firearm forum, I did not want to plug it or appear to be promoting myself. I am here for the 928 chat. If you are interested, I will send them to you on the side.

I only mentioned it because myself and my moderators promote that the lurkers come out of hiding, introduce themsevles and get engaged in the conversation. And, here I was being a lurker on this site. I forced myself to be polite and say hello. I really love the advice and tips here. This type of forum is a must for a guy that owns these cars, in my opinion.

Thanks, everyone!

Welcome Hammer! Nice looking car. I am going to guess you live in Florida. St Augustine grass and palm frond reflected in the windshield.

There are weapons enthusiasts in the Off Topic forum.

Yep, the the oil from the K&N filter messes with the MAF. Hard to beat the factory air filter set up for efficiency.
