MAFs have a failure mode where they go into thermal runaway and dump lots of fuel. If possible remove the MAF and unplug it. If the car then starts, idles reasonablely and warms up OK, then you have found the problem.
In the worst cases, you will just need to peer into the MAF inlet with just ignition switched on to see the hotwire glowing a dull orange....
